AIGA Honolulu SPARK Newsletter & Sustainability Guide



Description: Worked on the Summer 2008 issue of AIGA Honoluluʻs quarterly newsletter. Newsletter highlights events and news from this chapter of the AIGA. A special section was added just for this issue which outlined the footprint that is generated by the work that graphic designers do. Research and planning was very important in this job since there was a great deal of information from many different sources that needed to be organized in an easy to understand fashion. Project has invoked great community feedback and opened up new dialogues within the design community of Honolulu.

Il Gazzetino - Newsletter


Description: Redesigned organization's quarterly newsletter to present a more organized and modern look. The newsletter is 12 pages, printed digitally, and mailed to members and supports around the state.

Taisei Holiday Card



Descripton: This was a holiday card designed to convey a holiday greeting to clients and friends of the company as well as a marketing piece. This tri-fold card contains a letter from the company president as well as featured highlights of completed jobs to showcase the accomplishments of the company.

Ala Moana Magazine - Eating Section


Description: Designer for dining section in Ala Moana magazine to be printed in both English and Japanese. Highlights various restaurants around the Ala Moana shopping center. Work done on tight deadline included page layout and photo retouching.

Coco Palms Resort, Kauai

Description: Used existing elements to design single page and full spread advertisements for publication in various magazines and newspapers locally and nationally. Adjusted designs to meet specifications of various publications. Color corrected photographs for production. Prepared files for delivery to publishers. Coordinated and organized schedule for production and publications. Campaign ran for six months.

Hokulia Golf Club & Community

Adjusted designs to meet specifications of various publications. Color corrected photographs for production. Prepared files for delivery to publishers. Coordinated and organized schedule for production.

Hokulia Cultural Education Brochure



Description: Designed and illustrated information diagrams to be used within brochure. State provided diagrams were redesigned to present the style and quality represented by the Hokulia brand. Historical resources used in the design and production of brochure. Became required reading for all home owners within community to better understand the history and use of the land being developed.

Lapulapu, Natural Skin Integrity

Description: Redesigned identity with close coordination with client. Integrated clients own signature to brand the product which he makes by hand. Used new logo to produce eight different product labels for two different size containers. Final production included silk screening on bottles and the use of water proof vinyl label application.

Kukio Resale Brochures

Description: Worked directly with client and photographer to produce brochures for the sale of high end luxury homes. Project included illustrating floor plan and site map. Extensive detailed photo retouching and color adjusting. Selection of accent image to high feature of house. Adjustment of client provided copy to fit within the designed brochure. Template established for regular production of brochures. This has been an ongoing project with many editions in print.

Kukio Holoholo! Holiday Events Invitation


Description: Restructured the workflow and specifications of this annual invitation series to follow higher sustainable standards. Updated paper usage to include higher recycled content while maintaining the same look, feel, and quality. Adjusted workflow to utilize paperless proofing and approvals. Updated design and layout for new content for the current yearʻs events.

Sean Adams, Shop Talk Invitation

Description: Designed post cards used for mailing out to AIGA members inviting them to AIGA Honolulu events. Distributed to mailing list of over 500 local designers, educators, students, and industry leaders. Great exposure locally.

AIGA Sustainability Events


Description: Developed and organized ongoing programming for AIGA Honolulu to help educate designers on how to be more sustainable. Designed identity to brand all programing. Programing has included social events, green salons, and guest speakers from the mainland. Above you will see invitations designed for various events.

Logos and Marks



Description: Logo developed for all promotional materials created for the AIGA of Honolulu that would have a sustainability theme to them. Lecture series invitations, meeting notes, and email notifications are some of the uses.



Description: Medical illustrations designed to be used in printed materials and online animations for the University of Rochesterʻs HIV Vaccine Trials Unit. Simple diagrams of cells and viruses were needed to make complex procedures easy to understand.



Description: Redesigned existing logo for Fordham Bedford Housing company. A non-profit organization that works closely with the New York City government to provide housing options for lower income families. The logo is used on many promotional items, handouts, uniforms, construction equipment, building cornerstones, corporate letterhead, business cards, and more.



Description: Print and video corporate identity for a Los Angeles based film and video production company.
